Main Heats and Relays

Hello, Dragons,

We are midway through the season. Our swimmers and parents are doing great. Let's keep up the good work! I want to share a few reminders.

Individual Events

1. Each club may swim three persons in each individual main heat. The three fastest eligible swimmers (per seed times with legal strokes) will be placed in the main heat.

2. Swimmers in the 6-and under age group may swim in up to 2 individual main events. Any additional events will be Exhibition.

3. Swimmers in all other age groups (7 and up) may swim in up to 3 individual events. Any additional events will be Exhibition.

4. Only the top 3 positions earn points. 1st earns 5, 2nd earns 3 and 3rd earns 1 point.

Medley and Free Relays

1. Participation in relays shall not be included in the number of individual main events a swimmer may enter. A swimmer may participate in one medley relay main event and one freestyle main event.

2. The four swimmers (natural 4) that allow for the fastest seed time will be placed in the A relay.

3. When possible, we will create B and C relay teams.

4. When possible, we will move swimmers UP to an older age group to complete a relay in the older groups.

5. Only first place earns points (5).

5. We try to swim as many relays as possible. More ribbons - and possible points - for all!

Please reach out to me if you have any questions about seeding main heats and/or relay teams.

Thank you,
