Hello Arbor Creek families! As warmer weather approaches, we are getting closer to our Summer swim season. The Arbor Creek Dragons swim team starts mid-May and goes until mid-July. Registration is currently live for anyone interested in joining the full swim team.
We are working on a program as a part of our Dragons Swim Team called the Hatchlings. Did you know that a baby dragon is called a Hatchling?
The Hatchlings program is for children ages 4-7 who are on their way to being a confident swimmer, but still need some help to swim their race distances without assistance (6 yrs old and under must swim 15 yards, 7+ must swim 25 yards).
This program serves as a group lesson setting to introduce swimmers to competitive swimming. Our coaches will be in the water with the Hatchlings for their entire 30 minute daily session! Once your child learns to swim their race distance, they will graduate to a Dragon and will have the ability to compete in meets for points and times.
In summary:
- Arbor Creek children ages 4-7 who are not yet confident in swimming their race distance. Swimmer must be 4 by the first day of practice (May 11).
- Coaches and/or Jr Coaches will be hands-on, in the pool with Hatchlings.
- $150 registration cost includes Hatchlings Group Lessons and upon graduation from the Hatchlings program, Swim Team registration fees are waived
- Maximum 10 children at a time in Program.
- 30 minute practice before the “6 and unders” practice.
- Hatchlings may graduate to Dragons if they meet criteria, and therefore move to appropriate practice time.
- Hatchlings aged 6 and younger may participate in meets (with kid catchers)
- Registration prices for Hatchlings are slightly higher because of the hands on level of coaching and assistance to children in the water.
