Info for Visiting Teams
Location: Our pool is located at 200 Commons Drive, Holly Springs
Parking: Our parking lot will be reserved for your team’s families. We have a small lot. When the lot becomes full, you may park along Commons Drive, Arbor Crest Rd and Arbor Creek Drive. Please be respectful of our neighbors and do not block driveways.
Facility: We have a 6 lane, 25-yard pool. We have lights and can swim past dusk.
Timing System: Time Drops
Visiting Team Area: Your team's area will be just as you enter the pool nearest the restrooms, slide and grill area. Most furniture will be in place. We have limited seating; visitors are encouraged to bring additional chairs. We have a public water fountain with bottle filler. Swimmers should stay out of the shallow end at all times.
Volunteers: Each team should be prepared to provide: six volunteer timers (one home and one visitor timer per lane), Order of Finish judge (only used for main heats), runner, meet administrator, Clerk of Course, and Stroke & Turn judge. Note: The Order of Finish Judges can work together (on the home side of the pool) and note places for Main Heats only.
Stroke and Turn: Your coach and stroke & turn area will be between the slide and the shallow end. We DQ any 6 and Under swimmer that is touched by a Kid Catcher prior to crossing the finish line.
Warmups: As the host team, we will warm up from 5:00 to 5:25 p.m. The pool will be available for your team to warm up from 5:30 to 5:55 p.m.
Pre-Meet Briefing: There will be a pre-meet briefing promptly at 5:40 pm near the small storage shed/ping pong table on the pool deck. Kindly have all people officiating (i.e. S+T, timers, OOF, clerks, runners, meet admin) at the meet in attendance at that time.
Start and Flow: We will plan to play our National Anthem at 6 p.m. and then start promptly with our medley races. U8 & 9/10 medley relays will be called to the Clerks prior to the National Anthem. Our announcer will announce the start of each heat and call groups of swimmers to the clerks of course. We will do Dive Overs for the 11 and up races.
Concessions: We offer concessions (cash and Venmo accepted) where swimmers and families will be able to purchase drinks, pizza, hotdogs and snacks.
Parent/Coach Relay: We plan to conduct a 100 yd freestyle coach/parent relay (1 lap each person). Weather permitting, this relay will be done between breaststroke and butterfly.
Ribbons: We provide ribbons to Main Event participants (1st through 6th) and then Heat Winners for additional heats (10 and under). Main Event ribbons are typically available within two days AFTER the swim meet. Heat Winner ribbons are awarded after each race.
